STEPPING STONES GARDENING PROJECT


Stepping stones has three aims:

  1. To offer client groups in the Rugby borough a gardening service. The criteria for becoming a client would be one or more of the following: Vulnerability, due to temporary or permanent physical disability, old age, single parenting or recent hospitalisation.

  2. Experienced gardeners are given the opportunity to volunteer. These volunteers can be trained to act as mentors alongside the people we encourage to apply in our third aim.

  3. To actively seek out inexperienced gardeners particularly from disadvantaged groups who are underrepresented in volunteering such as young people with a learning disability or recovering from mental ill health.



We will be delighted to hear from anyone who might be interested in volunteering for this project or in supporting it financially. We are part funded by MENCAP for three years but are always grateful for fundraising ideas, donations or practical help.

We require Volunteers to take on the rewarding and challenging role of gardener and mentor.
